The Sceptic's Dilemma

In an effort to steelman the sceptic's view I have provided 15 of what I would think are the best arguments of people who historically espoused General Relativity and Big Bang theory, despite their own reservations (in many cases). The lay public think it's a settled science because they always hear the refrain about scientific consensus. In reality, many scientists have just been waiting for the right model of the universe to supersede a framework that has long been unsatisfactory, glutted as it is with internal contradictions. Even Vera Rubin, who discovered and measured the effects of dark matter, didn't believe in a universe that followed the principles of general relativity. When she in an interview she gave in 1998 (the same year as the "discovery" of an accelerating universe) was asked:

"Taking into account a large body of work besides the Geller, de Lapparent, Huchra work - your own work on the large- scale motions and the work of the Seven Samurai and all of that work which has shown that the universe is more inhomogeneous than might have been present in simple models - has that altered your view of the big bang model at all, or of the validity of the model, the assumptions of the model, that kind of thing?

'To this her reply was,'

It certainly has convinced me that we’re not living in a homogeneous, isotropic [universe]. I mean these things that I really suspected in the back of my mind, I can now say publicly. I’m not sure the Robertson–Walker universe exists. … If someone came out with a different model that could incorporate such large-scale inhomogeneities, I would be delighted to see it, but until then I will just live with the big bang model."

Frequently Asked Questions

Thus, it is obvious that many who abide by the standard cosmological model, were just temporarily parked there as they awaited a superseding paradigm. Of course, some will continue to believe in Big Bang theory, not matter how much evidence to the contrary is presented to them. Fifteen possible arguments from sceptics follow:

  1. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: The Sagnac Effect
    General Relativity's correct predictions matched experimental results because they were based on the right mathematical mapping, the Pythagorean theorem; not because they had the right theoretical framework. This is evident because experiments like the Sagnac Effect prove that light, like everything else follows simple Galilean velocity addition. Thus, while the mathematical mapping was correct, its theoretical framework was not. The very same GPS systems require Galilean math (the Sagnac Effect) to be functional, definitively proving that \(c\) is not invariant.


    If you use a hammer to drive a screw, the screw still goes in, but that doesn’t make the hammer a screwdriver. Einstein used a "Spatio-Temporal Hammer" to hit a "Geometric Screw." The fact that the GPS works proves the Pythagorean Mapping is correct, but the Sagnac Effect proves the "hammer" (invariant \(c\)) was the wrong tool to explain why.

  2. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: Proof by Negation
    Within the logic of General Relativity, if the "Constant \(c\)" were a law of nature, it would be based on the dual properties (permittivity/permeability) of the supposed “vacuum.” Those properties would not change just because a lab is spinning. In this theoretical framework, if \(c\) were truly invariant, a rotating frame would simply show the same \(c\) in both directions. Since an idea ϕ and its negation -ϕ, cannot both be true simultaneously. The fact that Sagnac (-ϕ) works - the velocity of the observer (𝑣) directly adds or subtracts from the velocity of the light (\(c\)) - means that the opposite, an invariant \(c\) (ϕ) does not. If \(c\) adds/subtracts in a circle, it adds/subtracts in a straight line.


    There is no such thing as a "local exception" to a universal constant. If \(c\) varies under any conditions - it is not universal. If \(c\) varies, the constant is falsified. A universal invariant \(c\) is proven false by internal contradiction: since assuming ϕ leads to a contradiction, it follows that ϕ must be false. Thus, you can conclude -ϕ. Relativity is a "house divided." GNM not only produces a working alternate framework of reality: it also exposes an internal logical failure in the much vaunted “consensus” of relativists.

  3. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: Inertia, Aharonov-Bohm phase shifts, The Lamb Shift, The Casimir effect
    Part of the whole point of GNM is to demonstrate that there is a new scientific class of quantum objects whose existence we can derive - not visually - but only by measuring their effects! That statement is important enough to bear repitition. There is a new scientific class of quantum object whose detection is strictly limited to measuring not them (direct confirmation), but their effects (indirect confirmation). This means scientific evidence is redefining the word "Real" to include not just electromagnetic (physical) objects, but also non-electromagnetic (quantum) ones too!


    Just like we cannot see Space (the Cosmic Web) but we know it is responsible for the stretching of the universe in a decelerated radial expansion. We thus have to appreciate the difference between Substrate and Signal. We detect the ribbons through their effects (Inertia and Aharonov-Bohm phase shifts), not through their "form." In exactly the same way you don't see the wind; but you see its effects. As Anton Petrov put it in a recent YouTube video: "In some sense, the observations in [this] study can actually be … compared to … observing and measuring the wind by looking at how the trees move and sway in the forest. So though we don't really see the wind, we know it's there.”

  4. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: WMAP/Planck Satellite, Junhyuk Son et al., Subir Sarkar et al.
    First, the broad philosophical principle known today as the "Copernican Principle" did not emanate from Copernicus himself in its general modern meaning. The correct assessment is that Copernicus never held the view that the Earth was just an "insignificant" planet in a vast, non-special universe. The modern philosophical interpretation that Earth and humanity hold a position of "insignificance" in a vast cosmos was not the position held by Copernicus. It is a later, 20th-century development. It is a philosophical tenet of modern cosmology not a measurement.


    Second. while it cannot be proven true, it has been tested - and falsified. The Axis of Evil is a measurement, not an ideology. One of the best ways to disprove something is Proof by Negation, a logical method used to demonstrate that a proposition is false by assuming the proposition is true and deriving a contradiction. When we do that with the Axis of Evil, the result is not an internal contradiction, but a working, mechanical model of the universe. This means the opposite worldview: the so-called Copernican Principle (isotropy and homogeneity) is false. Since ϕ and its negation -ϕ, cannot both be true simultaneously. The Axis of Evil being the empirical foundation of a working mechanical model of the universe proves its opposite (The Copernican Principle) to be false, since both cannot be true simultaneously. Choosing ideology over a measurement is the definition of unscientific bias.

  5. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF:
    The same infrastructure can support widely divergent dynamics. Think of toll roads that accommodate traffic from both heavy trucks and motorcycles. The strengths are different because the dynamics occur at different orders of magnitude. Gravity is a first-order tension of the tether itself. While charge is a secondary oscillation. A mechanical string can be plucked with massive energy (EM) while its static resting tension (Gravity) remains a delicate, background constant.

  6. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: Newton's Principle of Parsimony
    The limit exists, it is just internal (self-regulating) rather than a supposed external parameter (spacetime warping). Nature has two such energy limits and according to Newton’s Principle of Parsimony, how it handles one limit (matter not reaching 0 K) is how it will handle the other (lower than \(c\) velocities for particles with a rest mass). Zero Kelvin is avoided by matter’s internal self-regulation. Similarly, nature limits objects with mass from reaching \(c\) by regulating their internal motors, their fine structure constant. When the total energy of a system surpasses the linear energy of its rest mass, alpha varies its \(c_{local}\) variable downward, to compensate.

  7. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: Newton's Shell Theorem
    The Shell theorem, proven by Sir Isaac Newton demonstrated the gravitational effects of spherically symmetric bodies. They only exert gravitational forces outward. This doesn’t apply in the case of the CMBR since it sits at the edge of Space. Second, if an object (every structure in the Cosmos) is located inside a hollow spherical shell (the CMBR), it experiences no net gravitational force from the shell. This holds true regardless of the object's position within the shell. The gravitational forces from different parts of the shell cancel each other out.

  8. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: All Particle Accelerator Results in the History of Mankind!
    In every experiment where high-energy colliders produced subatomic particles that are heavier than electrons, it was due to smashing preexisting matter together. The debris is always made of fragments of pre-existing matter-architecture. The experimentalists aren't making "new" matter from light; they are re-organizing existing spinors into unstable configurations. No photon only experiment has ever produced anything heavier than an electron. There is a reason why they are called "particle accelerators."


    While some claim that we haven’t experimented with extremely high energies yet, and when we do, heavier-than-electron matter may be produced, this argument is null, even theoretically as light is limited by the maximum frequency of the EM spectrum. Those theoretical higher energies do not apply to photons, since we already know the range of the EM spectrum, and light has the same properties throughout the universe.

  9. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: The Sagnac Effect, Working GNM Model
    A "Singularity" is a mathematical error (division by zero) borne out of incorrect theoretical assumptions. As proven by the Sagnac Effect, the invariance of \(c\) has been falsified, and in turn with it, the existence of 4D Spacetime. Black holes are caused by Spacetime. Since Spacetime doesn’t exist, neither do effects that are caused by its extreme curvature. “Black holes” are a misreading of raw data due to it being interpreted through an ideological lens. Much in the same way the retrograde motions of Mars were. The data is real. Its interpretation is not.


    Black holes are a Theoretical Error, not a Physical Fact. You cannot invoke the mathematical artifact of a falsified hypothesis, especially in the face of a working (thus correct) model of the opposite worldview! Since spacetime does not exist as proven by the Axis of Evil, Hubble flow data, and the Son et al. study's result of a persitently decelerating universal expansion, none of the conceptual structures for which it is a prerequisite exist either. If black holes are defined as the extreme curvature of spacetime, how can they exist if spacetime itself is a theoretical error?

  10. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: Axis of Evil, Junhyuk Son et al., Subir Sarkar et al., Working GNM Model
    Scientists who espouse the accelerated expansion of the universe are not wrong just because of one counter study. They are wrong because reality does not allow the building of an impossible 3D object (Penrose Triangle). It is the fact that GNM can build a consistent 3D model while ΛCDM is stuck in "Tension" that has now become a “Crisis” (Son et al.) that proves which one is aligned with reality. Additionally Subir Sarkar has also definitively shown that the universe is not isotropic on the large scales.


    Also, within its own logical framework the 2011 Nobel Prize was awarded incorrectly. If the redshift and luminosity data were divergent the one should have been used to “calibrate” the other to produce a computed result. You cannot use two divergent datasets to tell two different stories when the data is taken from one cause that occurred in one instant in time.


    Thus, the death knell to dark energy and thus general relativity is not, just “a single 2025,” though that itself is sufficient, it is the fact that the Nobel Prize winning papers were based on faulty reasoning! This is true even if no more data had come in. But it has! The Methodological Failure of accelerated expansion, and thus the cosmological constant and general relativity has been corrected by the results of the Son et al. study. If my speedometer says 100 km/h but my GPS says I've only moved 50 km, I don't assume a "New Force of Nature" is stretching my car; I assume one of my instruments is poorly calibrated.

  11. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: Stern-Gerlach Experiment
    Polarization is the Orientation of the Wiggle. Since a 3D spinor network allows for vibrations in any transverse plane, there is no mechanical restriction on polarization.

  12. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: Mercury’s Orbit, Synchronizing of GPS clocks etc.
    No. It is a fundamental truth that no scientific discipline exists in total isolation; all fields necessarily overlap. Consequently, an exposition of one field will inevitably "bleed" into others. However, to definitively encapsulate the principles of a new framework, the focus must remain strictly on the domain at hand. This paper is dedicated to overhauling the Standard Model of Cosmology through the working mechanical model of EGN Mechanics.


    Our analysis centers on the electron and its mathematical relationship to the Cosmic Web via the Faraday Tethers. Its aim is not to provide an exhaustive account of every particle in existence - that task belongs to a subsequent white paper overhauling the standard model of particle physics. Just as cosmology transitions into particle physics, particle physics transitions into chemistry, and chemistry into biology. Each discipline will have its own paradigm shifting discussion. Thus, I will not address broader questions of particle physics in this current white paper to avoid diluting the cosmological proofs herein presented. These will be tackled and definitively answered in a forthcoming white paper dedicated to the Standard Model of Particle Physics.


    For now the direct answer is: in GNM, we do not "patch" Newton’s formulas with arbitrary variables. I am uncovering the infrastructure that makes the existing math functional.

  13. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: All Redshift Survey Data, Junhyuk Son et al. Study
    This question confuses the signal with the spectacle. Consider two cars braking on a long highway; both stop at the exact same moment. Because light has a finite travel time, you will see the brake lights of the nearer car first, and the signal from the farther car only seconds later. Interpreting this as the farther car "braking later" is a complete misunderstanding of signal propagation. A correct understanding must always factor in Observation Lag.


    Extrapolating this to the cosmos, we must distinguish between the occurrence (the spectacle) and the detection (the signal). We observe the "Whistle" of historical stretching still arriving from the farthest reaches of the web. However, our local neighborhood shows zero redshift, proving that at our current temporal location, the mechanical deceleration has reached its conclusion: 0 km/h. Thus, Redshift is a "Frozen Signature" of a past event. Just as we hear the thunder after the lightning, we see the "Stretch" after it has stopped. Redshift maintains Absolute Time while respecting the constant travel time of the Whistle (Light).

  14. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: WMAP (2001 - 2010), Planck Satellite (2009 - 2013), & Junhyuk Son et al. Study (2025)
    Consensus is not the litmus test for validity; internal consistency and alignment with data are. History shows that the geocentric model was initially more accurate at predicting celestial movements than the early heliocentric one, yet it was eventually superseded because its underlying premise was wrong.


    A valid theory must provide a logical, congruent blueprint for the universe it purports to define. GNM does this: the seeds of left-handed normal matter are clearly recognizable in the right-handed nature of alpha-free proto-matter; the inverse square law is derived from a spherical boundary; and the universe is mechanical because it is predicated on work (\(W = F⋅d\)) forces acting upon objects by pushing and pulling.


    Conversely, the Big Bang and General Relativity are dynamically incongruent with reality. The Big Bang violates the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which requires two heat reservoirs - one hot and one cold - to perform work (expansion). If the Big Bang created Space, it had no "cold sink" to expand into. Thus, from being the cause of the Cosmos we observe; the Big Bang violates the very laws (Thermodynamics) it claims to have established. Furthermore, the "Initial Singularity" relies on infinite values for temperature, density, gravitational forces and the curvature of spacetime. However, in the universe we observe, no real entity has infinite values, of any sort. That means they didn’t exist at the Big Bang either.


    Finally, General Relativity is defined by isotropy (uniformity), yet it has produced a universe that is clearly asymmetrical (The Axis of Evil). It relies on a Cosmological Constant (\(\Lambda \)) to explain an accelerating universe, while empirical studies both recent (Son et al. 2025) and more distant (The Hubble Flow) prove the expansion was decelerating. GNM matches the data because it describes the mechanical source, whereas the standard model relies on falsified "ideological patches" (the Inflaton field and \(\Lambda\)) to explain away the contradictions.

  15. EXPERIMENTAL PROOF: The Penrose Triangle vs. The Scientific Method = Working GNM Model of the Universe

    The fact that GNM is a working model of the universe, is the definitive proof of its validity. Its veracity is dependent only on facts and empirical observations (measurements, not just seeing). No amount of sceptism/consensus can overturn facts, reason, and everyday logic.
